Neighbouring Business Have Drilled into My Wall and Mounted a Sign. What Can I Do?

Question by Mark Wilson: Neighbouring business have drilled into my wall and mounted a sign. What can i do?
Our shop is right next to a private car park. The car park owners have drilled into our wall and mounted signs. The wall is ours, although they state it is there’s. What are the best steps in having this sign safely and legally removed. Can we claim compensation to have the wall repaired?
We were going to go and take the sign off ourselves but though they may try to claim for criminal damage on their property (the sign).
Thanks in advance for any help given.
We are in the UK.

Hi, i would speak to your local council before you do anything, maybe a day worth of research before you remove it. To me it seams like even though the physical car park belongs to them, the wall is your property.

I would just take off the sign, personally give it back to them politely and see what they say

Do not touch the sign, you can ask the council but its probably quicker to take them to the small claims court if they refuse to move the sign.
