Can the Dpj Really Rein in the Civil Service?

Question by michinoku2001: Can the DPJ really rein in the civil service?
I wish the DPJ well but I’m kind of skeptical about the whole “politician-led” thing. I don’t think the way the civil service has the power it has is specific to the LDP.
It’s the political culture of Japan because Diet members just do not have the time to be on top of developing policy due to all the events and meetings they have to attend.

Who knows.
The reason why Japanese lawmakers can’t do many things is that they are allowed to have only 3 secretaries while American congressmen can have many more.
We have to see the result of DPJ endeavor.
